So I found an interesting topic about Game designers and their Movie director counterparts.
The list is quite short but it hits most of the highly respected and well known people on both sides but I'd like to see if anyone else has any comparisons to make on the WiiU forums.

The article is here if you'd like to take a look: http://www.1up.com/f...?pager.offset=1

The comparisons they've made so far are these:

Shigeru Miyamoto = Steven Speilberg

Tim Schafer = Terry Gilliam

Hideo Kojima = James Cameron

Peter Molyneux = Francis Ford Coppola

Suda 51 = Quentin Tarantino

Nolan Bushnell = Orson Wells

So do you got any ideas for good comparisons? I don't really pay attention to Directors names all the time so it's hard for me to think of any good ones but maybe Shinji Mikami = George A. Romero?

Edit: I should probably explain my comparison so here it goes. Both of them sort of created the Zombie craze in both mediums with Mikami's Resident Evil series and Romero's ...Of The Dead series. both series are quite popular and have influenced a lot of later projects later on in their respective mediums lives. Romero's more likely the Mikami's but yeah that's the best I can come up with.

Shigeru Miyamoto = Steven Speilberg

I can't help but agree with that! Speilberg was incredibly creative, much like Miyamoto! Much like how Speilberg directed Jaws, Indiana Jones, and Jurassic Park, Miyamoto "directed" Super Mario and Legend of Zelda,
