The Nintendo site claims Tvii "will be available in selected regions throughout Europe in 2013" but I haven't heard anything about this in ages.

I think it's probably been cancelled- most likely due to negotiations with BBC falling through. Nintendo should give up and just get on with releasing the catch-up TV services as apps like Sky Player, 4OD, and iPlayer. I know it's the games that are most important but it would be nice to have some of these extra features.

What does everyone else think? And to those in the US, would having this feature missing be a big deal?

Hopefully things can be worked out in the EU to make TVii worthwhile, really I don't use the service all that much however I have been playing with it more recently. It's useful if you utilize streaming services along side your cable. Searching is nice and the app itself does contain some nice features to make consuming media more streamlined.

Does the TVii icon still show up for the EU wii u owners?

I'd imagine it's still coming, it's the major entertainment feature of the console
I am the foot. I do not like you. You smother me with socks and shoes, then step on me thousands of times a day.

We foot will rebel one day.

Forget it. If the console continues selling like the past 8 months in Europe, TVii is as good as dead.

One thing that I never understood well about TVii was, when you select "watch on Netflix" for example, do you need to close a suspended game or does it play the show/movie without closing it?

If you try to fail and succeed, which have you done?
