Power Outages Loss of Progress and RAGE!

So, I thought I'd talk about the times I've been completely robbed of victory because of storms and stuff and one of the most memorable ones was when I was at the 96th floor of the pit of the 100 trials in Paper Mario:TTYD, so, this was about a year after it's release. I'd beaten the Shadow queen a long time ago but I hadn't gotten any new games in awhile and I was bored so thought I'd go see what was at the bottom of the Pit. So I stock up, I get some Zess Dynamite, Mix the leftover Jammin' Jellies and Super Shrooms I had and I go down to discover what's at the bottom. And then what happens... 4 floors away and BAM, Lights out. I'm pretty sure my jaw was dropped the very moment the TV turned off... I still remember it because that dreadful feeling of losing so much progress, I also remember not replaying it for about a year. It was a good run too, I had barely used any items, and I'd kept myself at full health using Sweet Feast and Power blocking the crap out of everything. Alas it was not meant to be. It really taught me a valuable lesson... Don't play when it's stormin' outside.

So do you got any stories about power outages, or any loss of progress at all. Like a Vengeful sibling deleting your save, or maybe Corrupted data for a reason unknown to you. Maybe your mom stepped on a memory card and broke it. Or something else like a your brother and sister while carrying a glass of chocolate milk spilled it all over your Gamecube Completely and utterly destroying it.... First and last one actually happened, so share your story.

Edit: I forgot another one. This happened after I had just gotten Twilight Princess.
So It was my first time playing the game, the intro was pretty long, Thankfully there were save prompts because most of the time I was too enthralled to care about saving, which lead to what happened next.
So I'm about to get the last monkey in the forest temple, I've been in the dungeon for a fair amount of time
I finally retrieve the monkey and I was heading for the Boss door for the first time, Now I should mention that at the time my Wii was in the living room on the coffee table because the living room had the largest Television, but see what was wrong with this is that the power cord was out in the opened... So my grandpappy, who was kinda dozing off to the side watching me play gets up to go have a smoke and on his way... He trips over the power cord. And sadly the last time I saved was at the last save prompt... So I had to redo the entire dungeon again. Not the greatest start for a new game.
