I loved the 3rd party ports on Gamecube and even Wii U has ports better than the competition. It's not a case of specs but how creative devs can be using unique hardware to make something different.

Nintendo going 3rd party is just silly.

I've thought of this. The problem with Nintendo going third party is that you don't know where Nintendo fans will land. And, in the grand scheme of things, Nintendo may not be that big of a challenge to the other publishers on other platforms, because the same ppl who don't want Nintendo games and buy the other games are still there. So it wouldn't be a bad thing for other publishers.
