I've been wanting to buy NES Remix for some time now but I haven't gotten around to doing so. But if anyway does have NES remix then is it a good game to purchase for it's price? Or is it really bad and that i shouldn't buy it?

It's not worth $15, but it's not a bad game. Just expensive.
I'd get NES Remix 2 over 1 however.

It's a fun game most of the time, but there's some games that are just annoying to do challenges for. Like Mario Bros. and Ice Climber with their awkward controls. There's a good amount of content, but that's also somewhat of a downside with some of the games not being as fun. $15 is a hefty price, but get if you feel it's worth it. But honestly, I'd just wait for NES Remix 2, as it'll have a better selection of games. Although owning NES Remix 1 unlocks an extra mode in Remix 2.

Extra Mode? What extra mode?

It's a great game, just bought it the other day and been having loads of fun and for €9,99 it isn't too expensive.
Edit: And damn there is a lot of content. I've unlocked three more games to play and there's a Remix II, I'm quite surprised

Nes Remix 1 is a lot of fun. I don't think $15 is to much to ask by any means. Wouldn't really pay much more, but $15 seems a fair price. There's a diversity of games, some more mainstream than others... and while some of the games might otherwise be 'boring', it's more about the challenge -can you complete the task in the allotted time. A fair amount i read on miiverse tend to take shots at how bad(difficult) the ice climbers controls are... but that's how things were back then! ...so i take most of the negative as some newer generations that are a bit more used to how games coddle and are quite a bit more forgiving now-adays. I'd be more upset if they altered controls making them unauthentic. I'm not sure what this extra mode owning 1 will unlock for 2 either... that info didn't make the nintendo direct so it's news to me. ...unless ya meant the Super Luigi Bros bonus game... but that's coming with Remix 2 regardless if you bought 1 or not.
If ya lived through the old NES days, I for sure recommend NES Remix on nostalgia value alone. The game shorts themselves feed your nostalgia, and the remix lvls give you pure fun. Playing donkey kong as link for example... loved that challenge! poor link can't jump of course so quite an ordeal making that climb.

I'm not buying any eShop games until that Best Buy sale on Nintendo eShop cards is on. After that I'll probably buy NES Remix 1, A Link To The Past, Earthbound, Super Metroid, and probably Wonderful 101
Heh, those are some good games!

Extra Mode? What extra mode?
I'm not exactly sure what it is, but apparently it's some sort of mode that mimics the old NES World Championship from the late 80s/early 90s. They haven't shown any gameplay, it's just in some press release.
