This is for me and not ashamed to eat crow.
I gave Double Helix a lot of rainbow in the past and was very very pissed they got Strider. To me Capcom just could never aside from Wayforward in recent years get a decent western developer to do classics games or current series. Back in 2009 they had a home run and a strike out in the same year. Grin developed Bionic Commando Re-Armed and Bionic Commando retail game that was something new and I detest that game to the point me any my buddy get into an argument over it every time. I have dubbed it Wife Arms. I had zero faith in Capcom ans Double Helix taking on Strider. My bud argued with me that they can do the job and promised me they can get the feel..I said no and he said just wait. Well. I am happy to eat that crow. I played the demo and man DH must have come into their own. It was the very Strider I remember with new paint. The animation if it was any more fluid it would be water. Controls were VERY responsive almost to the point it felt like it knew what you were going to do next just a fraction of a second before you pressed anything. My only gripe and it's minor,D-pad disabled for the demo at least. Music wonderful remix of the old game and they even remixed the NES version.
Game looks visually very stylish and clean. Runs silky smooth.
This will gather some heat but I don't think even Platinum could have done any better. (I mean not a full fledged retail game like MGS) Not joking this game the way it plays and such has a PG effect esp Bayonetta in that even tho you are controlling it you feel a little behind but so caught up in the action but still works so well. So anytime you screw up it's not the game but you. At least that's the impression I get from the demo.
