Are you saying its overpriced? Because when you add in labor cost, marketing (right...), and some other essential cost, the mark up is probably minimal or non-existant as they said they were selling it at a loss from the start. But they havent even released any info to figure out the production cost i dont think.

Why does everyone spell lose loose? I always read it as spelled and it makes so many comments sound stupid

 

Anyway, I seem to remember reading somewhere that they're losing a little, but that was a while ago, they might be breaking even or turning profit now.

at this point it probuly costs less to make a wiiU than what it costs at retail, but retail and shipping take enough out of it to cost nintendo money. this is all assuming nintendo is in the same/similar boat as sony/microsoft are currently with hardware costs.

Before the wii u launched I guessed it would be $400 to buy based on specs and gamepad. Any lower, and they'd lose.

As it turns out, it was a lucky guess. The system itself cost them nearly $350 to make, factoring in manpower, etc.

So it was a $50 or so loss the first year.

May be still that number now since the price drop

I believe they are losing money . But the way it works is after a while they start to make money on each unit because the part cost goes down.

I'm not busy at the moment so I'll try and think about how as straight as I can.

1. Post counts are pointless.
2. You seem to be implying my posts were deleted for trolling or I only post trolling.
3. You forgot the "I" in your brackets.
4. Maybe you left out a word between "posts are more" and "than yours".
5. You think "$12" is trolling somehow.
6. I feel like there's more, but I can't think straight.

Your question is being treated as a joke, because the people who post here are dumb as Wii.
They can't just live and let die.
They will be rude to you even if you try and make a decent post.
They will post image spam, and reply as if you are the worst person they know.

I don't care who you are, I just thought the question was pointless, therefore, I added a monetary value to stimulate some conversation.
I don't have access to Nintendo's financials on the levels you want, nobody on this forum does.
I don't believe they're still losing money on each console sold, they're losing money by not being able to sell enough consoles to sell enough of their games to make a decent profit.
There were teardowns on day 1 which show you the price, you could google them, nothing has changed.
Use your own mind to come up with rudimentary price fluctuations and take into account bulk discounts Nintendo may receive, the cost of employing cheap Chinese labour, and packaging for retail.

No one hates you. That would be a waste of energy. They just don't take your incoherent and never thought out posts seriously.

You post for the sake of posting. Some could also be annoyed by that and esp the flip floping of hating then loving Wii U and claims you sold it 6 times by now yet somehow have annother one. I have seen David Lynch films easier to understand than your posts.
