I want to buy the game digital, do i still get the promotion with a free game?

Yes, just make sure you have a Club Nintendo account if you don't already, and link it to your eShop on your console

Ah good to know ^^ And yeah, already linked my 3ds and wii-u to it when the free game promotion was with the nes game 
Edit, umm, never mind, I entered the UK nintendo club now and... how do i check if i have linked them?

Edit, umm, never mind, I entered the UK nintendo club now and... how do i check if i have linked them?
Go into the eShop and check your options/settings. There should be one for Club Nintendo

Make sure it's linked first, otherwise Club Nintendo won't acknowledge the purchase and you have to call Nintendo.
