Hi. I'm writing this on my phone so apologies if I make some errors.

As my internal storage was getting full I decided to delete some data. I picked Zen pinball as I only own two bits of dlc, all the other tables being demos. The dlc just shows as one file noted as 'add on content'. So I assume that I just delete that and redownload the tables I own. However it is showing as 0kb, I'm sure it previously said over 1gb.When I tried to delete or move it I got the message 'A system memory error has occurred.Turn the console off, then try again'. Any ideas guys? I don't want to clear the console setting cos I believe that I would lose all my data, data backed up to USB would not work in a new session, so to speak? Is this true?

I want my storage space back, but the 0kb dlc is taking up space, I added up what is installed on the storage and I'm def short of free space.

Yeah i tried that. In fact you have to turn the console off after you get that message, you can't back out. I tried deleting and moving the data, both give you that error message. I can delete or move the main game, save and update data, just not the dlc.

Move everything else to external memory, then disconnect drive and format data. As long as you don't choose to delete your NNID it should be fine, and you can move everything back onto internal memory that you want. But I am not positive. My advice is to contact Nintendo before you do anything potentially permanent.

Right. I had read that if you wipe the drive backed up saves won't work on the console, something about them only being valid in that 'session'. Have you tried this? Thanks.

I haven't, but looking at it it does seem that would make sense. The closest thing I could find to reformatting internal memory was to do a factory reset, after which the Console would most likely reinitialize itself and generate new encryption keys.

 

I think your best bet is to call Nintendo or buy an external drive and keep everything else on it. They make these really tiny usb drives now that you forget they're there.
