Yeah. ..I actually love this idea. The fact the leveling data is stored on the figure is pretty cool.

My only problem is my Link Amiibo most likely won't work with MK8... unless they patch on Link. That would be sick. .. Maybe Link is there waiting for my Amiibo to unlock him. Doubt it.

So i guess my one concern is how a Mario figure may have more value/use then say a Link, Animal Crossing villager, Samus or whatever.

I plan on buying more then one anyway, But it feels not all Amiibos will work in all compatible games.

NEither good out bad. Just the way it may be.

I am very curious if Nintendo would make you buy a Link figure to play him on say MK8. Doesn't sound very Nintendo like.

Maybe Amiibo that aren't from the same series will just trigger a little easter egg or something. Like, say, placing Princess Peach on the GamePad while playing Zelda might transform Zelda's outfit to Princess Peach's?

Idk, but I'll be getting that sexy Mario statue with the fire, and probs that Samus one and the Link one. I'll probably end up buying all of the others, but those are the ones that caught my eye.

Mega Man and a Fire Emblem Character. That's it for me. Won't even use them for the game. Just to use as cheap small statues on the shelf. Can toss out that hunk of crap Sora from the crap KH series.

im guessing some games will eather have a easter egg or not care which person you place but work as NFC files

 

as for smash, samus, yoshi, and a undecided other.

That said, I wouldn't want a lot of them.  Not peach, not Pikichu, not villager....

Sounds kinda like an Amiibo is strongly tied to the game it is released for. A smash bros. Mario can be used in other games but it seems to not have the same memory space for other games. ... if that makes sense.

Not sure I wanna buy one Amiibo type (lets say Mario) for every game that is compatible.

Though this will ensure I am picky on which ones I buy.

Oh. A custom Mii Amiibo sounds awesome.

They look detailed and high quality too. I've seen some Disney Infinity figures at the store with some jacked up looking faces :-/

I love that Nintendo is doing this...it's going to really help the console.

 

As for me, won't be buying any. Just not my thing. But if I was younger or had a kid I probably would.
