Mmmhmmm, thought I'd let you guys know about this. Now, I COULD have used my own channel's video announcement to be all self-promoting and stuff, but I exercised restraint and provide you a direct link to the giveaway page!
I tried liking it but i just couldn`t. Played all of them - even bought Brawl - but it just isn`t my style.
Fighting games for me have to play like Sreet Figher or King of Fighters. That kinda play style.
Try melee or project M, both are better games. Also recemend tring many characters and finding a good smash group. Games can get very intense.

Well I think it's important to mention he try them competitively. Like he said, he's tried melee, but if he was playing it as a party game, it's no wonder it didn't fit his taste, and Project M would be the same way.
I did see some of the Smash Invitational. It`s the way you control the characters that i just can´t get into it. And believe me, i wish i liked it.
I played all Smash games and just couldn`t get into the play style.
I also tried DoA and Tekken, but my favourite fighting games still are the Street Fighters and King of Fighters.
Nonono bro, smash invitational was casual playstyle up until grand finals, and it was a brand new game. Far from smash at it's best. When i say competitive smash, I'm talking about this:
And that's not some super crazy insane combo either there are a lot of players who could do that sort of thing consistently.
Edit: also wanted to respond to the movement thing. When you play casually, it's literally a whole different experience than competitive. Movement included. I've played street fighter blazBlue and DoA (not KoF yet unfortunately) and can say smash is my fav by far.
Also, if this video doesn't get you wet for smash, look up the smash brothers documentary. It's a little long, but it's split up into episodes, so it's bearable. It's also my favourite documentary ever, and probably the only one I have the urge to watch just from thinking about it (like right now).

I will respond to both of these simultaneously, lol... I believe Delio is saying that the MECHANICS (in other words, the WAY combat occurs) does not interest him. Whether competitive or not, it does not change the physics, the combat moves, and the way they're handled around the stage. The mechanics most likely bother him, since his mention of Street Fighter tells me he prefers a more close-up, intimate fight with more overall aggression...
Having said that, I will tell you, Delio, that as a person who grew up on Street Fighter, there is a chaos to 4-player Smash that cannot be met by just about any other fighting game anywhere, ever. Even Sony's attempt to cash in on the concept didn't quite hit the mark. If anything, I think if you DO get Smash Bros for Wii U, that playing online will be your best bet. Instead of trying to find enjoyment in the playstyle, find enjoyment in the party-like nature of 4-player Smash, and you might find an entirely different reason to enjoy Smash Bros than you were looking for

Nyeehh I can Kinda sort of see it with things like characters percentage going upward rather than health bars going down and flying off stage being a kill rather than no health being a kill. But things like the speed of the game and physics? Once again, competitive is completely different. It's like having your eyes opened up to a whole new game. Things like speed and pacing change drastically. And the physics get broken quite frequently
*cough cough*:

And if it's the feel of the game you're worried about, that's probably that changes most. Here, just listen to one of my favourite snippets from the Smash Brothers documentary (which once again I insist you and everyone else in the world watch (did I mention it's received heads ups from many big players in other competitive communities like Justin Wong have endorsed it?)) explaining what competitive smash feels like and compare it to how you felt. It probably feels more like they're talking about the games you like to play (street fighter KoF), right? Well, today's your lucky day sir,I can guarantee you every single person who's played competitive smash for a while knows exactly what they're talking about. I know I did (and honestly, I don't even play that seriously).
(14:43 (it should start there, but I'm not sure)) then skip to 18:58 after the Asian guys is done and watch the white guy. When the black guy (directly after) is talking, he's talking about how Smash specifically compared to other fighters btw, and it just might be my favourite quotation in the series because it is so incredibly true. After the black guy is done you can stop (if you want).
Also, I didn't leave a link to this last time, but just finding those quotations for you again has reminded me how much I love this doc. So here you are, the first ep. (I know it seems long, but it really just wizzes by. The creator even said the thing he's most proud of for this episode is the pacing:

K, just finished watching this ep again before I posted, and let me say just one more time. Watch this. Watch it dang it.
Also, there's some great bits in the ep going further into how smash compares to other 2d fighters (and why it's better (kidding (kind of ))), and how it works competitively

It`s exactly like ZyroXZ2 said: it`s the mechanics that i just can`t get into it.
That video of Melee was amazing and that was what made me buy Brawl despite not being able to get into Smash 64 and melee before - which i always played with friends when i tried them out.
Honestly, i really wish i got into it.
It`s a little like Little Big Planet or Killzone 2. Both seemed great but when i played them something just didn`t click. And really wanted to play them - as they were two of the reasons i bought a PS3 in 2009.
Maybe one day i will try it if it`s cheap and really try to get into it, but so far, i have no desire to buy a game when i have others that i want more.
And be sure, WydrA, i will watch all 9 episodes!
I actually like watching that kind of stuff. Knowing how the games were made and how people react to them, etc. Thanks for sharing.
