Hi there. I just purchased a used Wii U premium console on eBay. To my surprise, the console had Windwaker HD installed on the hard drive as well as Monster Hunter 3, the console also has the old owners login details set to sign in automatically, I haven't made my own account yet.

What I'm wondering is, if I was to create my own account, would I still be able to access the games or would they not work? I'm new to the Wii U and I ask because on PS4 - if you sign into another profile / PSN account, the games you've purchased digitally do not run due to the license not being activated on that account.

I don't want to lose access to Windwaker HD as that was the game that I purchased the console for in the first place and due to it being pre-installed, I've pretty much purchased the console for £130 in Mint Condition (Bargain!) as I was going to purchase the game anyway.

Don't delete the old account and you'll be fine. You can create a new account and it can still access all of the games. I'd reccomend calling Nintendo and asking them if they can transfer the game licenses to your new account, but that's hit or miss.

Games will work fine on a new account. The saves will work with the original account but new account will not. Games will work fine on either. Do not delete the old account or else have to re buy the games.
