According to a new report from Tsutaya, Hyrule Warriors has been selling quite well in Japan, affecting both overall software and hardware sales. Tsutaya is the largest retail chain in Japan, and is used by analysts to predict software and hardware sales.

The Obon Season [a three day Japanese festival made to honor ancestral spirits] saw strong sales over last year. Especially for the released Wii U software title Hyrule Warriors, with hardware sales going very well. The Wii U software division recorded sales nearly four times that of the previous year.

It further states that while sales aren’t usually as strong during the Obon season, sales from Hyrule Warriors still managed to be high. The Tsutaya chart from August 11th to the 17th even lists the title at number three.

We need titles like this to boost Wii U sales. We need those third party games back.
