So we all know why this game is coming to the Wii U.

1) It's Kirby, so it had to happen sometime soon as Kirby games for handheld and console usually release close together then take a break.
2) They needed games that used the Gamepad's touchscreen.

I didn't play the original DS title that inspired this control mech, but I don't think it fits the Wii U that well as it would on a handheld. I think they should've done something like Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, well mostly because I want the comining powers back, but I think they could do something similiar to Hyper Nova. Like have shards to make a special power, there will be a power for each world. Those powers are needed to complete the world. You can combine powers on the gamepad, also to make the special power you have to put it together like a puzzle.

Just a quick idea I got while playing through The Crystal Shards earlier so its a big rough. Bit more minimal impact on the gamepad, but I think it works. The gamepad should enhance or spice up the gameplay a little bit, not be the complete focus.

Hibernating during e3? Lol.

I don't quite get people who say this. The game pad may have not been used in a super distinctive way but there are a number of games that do make good use of it regarding 1st and 3rd party games.

And I'm not talking about off tv play or blowing into the mic.

Nintendoland
DUES EX
Batman arkham city
Splinter cell black list
Cod blops2 and ghosts
WW hd
Rayman legends
NBA 2k13
Game and Wario
Wii party u
Need for Speed mw
Zombi u

Just off the top of my head. Not including upcoming titles. Some games like DKCTF didn't do anything with it expect for off tv play but the game simply didn't need a use for it.

Regarding kirby I've read that some people were able to mostly look at the tv while playing and not constantly stare at the gamepad. I think after a few levels you get adjusted. As an added note the game looks gorgeous

I was talking about upcoming first parties

  • Bayonetta 2 ( controls offer stylus gamepad use for more casual gameplay )
  • Smash (Amiibo)
  • Captain Toad (Amiibo & some other uses including a minecart type level, using gamepad to aim at enemies, tap on enemies and objects to move them from path etc)
  • Splatoon (map and spawning, which seems very useful in frantic gameplay)
  • Mario Party 10 (Gamepad player is Bowser.. mess with other players)

So which ones?

I agree.
I liked the Wii Kirby game.
But I miss the Gameplay of Crystal Shards with combined items.

So I'm hoping for a Kirby game that's creative in its own way.
