The Wii U doesn't need more RAM

So the XBox One and PS4 have 5x the usable RAM for games, so what? Saying that the RAM is a problem is a straw man, because in order to even move from 720p to 1080p on certain Wii U games, you would have to invite AMD engineers over and rearchitect the whole device, then add more RAM.
I do expect 10-20% performance improvements in the future, maybe. But not through overclocking or adding more RAM, through OS improvements over time. I just don't see anything else happening. Overclocking this machine is a bad idea because it's so small and therefore would probably have small cooling and little room for heat.
We haven't even seen the best looking games, I don't think.
If I'm sounding rude about this, I apologize. I haven't had my daily soda yet.

Ryudo had a great perspective in the fast racing neo thread. To put it into context, he is speaking about the PS4 and X1
Yes we can, because they are not consoles but PC's and showing everything they have right now. Everything they have to offer is on the table.
There is nothing to discover or unlock. Wii U does. PS360 did because they are consoles.

I can't tell what he's talking about from this snippet. Care to elaborate?

PS4 and X1 x86 architecture . They are more PC's now they ever. Wii U is more customized.

The thing is, I agree with him. Maybe 0-2 developers have unlocked the Wii U's full potential. It just has a weird design. Not quite PS3 weird, but weird nonetheless.PS4 and X1 x86 architecture . They are more PC's now they ever. Wii U is more customized.
Now I'd say there is still potential in the PS4/XBone, but that the Wii U has the very most potential. Meaning if the quality of graphics increases 30% in 2 years on the XBox One/PS4, it might increase 50% in 2 years on the Wii U.

It's quite amazing how X looks now in the latest direct compared to the initial reveal back in 2013. I posted this in another thread, but that game clearly is on the final legs to going gold and the graphical increase/fidelity/detail is quite pronounced.
Nintendo is "new" to HD too, with refinement of their development tools and game engines, we are in store for some great stuff.

I just played some of the new DLC tracks on Mario Kart, nobody can now tell me the Wii-U is not next gen or not powerful enough to pull of jaw dropping games, i am already playing them.
