Do I have to have an SD card inserted to save the game?

Will it not save all the game data to my Wii U harddrive like all the other games?

Thank you.

When I loaded the game for the first time last night, it said I need an SD card to save screenshots.  I'm pretty sure it only does that because there is no photo viewer app native to the Wii U.

Edit:  I just loaded the game for the second time, with no SD card either time, and the save data from before was saved.

Is it saving screen caps to SD card because of a larger full hd file size? Perhaps they don't want Wii U owners with basic or just no HD attached filling up space and wondering why system memory is full .... lol. I can see HUNDREDS of pics being captured by a single user.

So you made a post without continuing?
It tell you that it's for the screen shot saving.
No big deal.
And I bet it saves to the sd card for easier ablitiy to transfer to a pc and upload.

I gotta plug one in for when I play tonight. This may be a dumb question but how to you take screen shots? I haven't been able to figure out how to do it in any game. Mind you I haven't really looked it up yet either .

When you're in a battle, push start and it should automatically put you in Photo Mode. Push ZL or ZR to snap a photo. In photo mode you can also zoom in/out, pan, switch to a different character. It's really neat. Sometimes I spend more time in photo mode admiring the levels than actually smashing lmao
