As for the Wii U's basic visual setup and assets, Watch Dogs identifiably uses the existing last-gen versions as its starting point. As you can see from our comparison video below, differences are few when compared with Sony's older platform - while PS4 remains a clear generational leap ahead. Broadly speaking, those looking for a graphical midway point between these two Sony versions will be disappointed; Nintendo's hardware sticks close to PS3 quality in almost every case.

I'm about 3 or 4 hours into the game. Frame rate does drop especially when driving and in some other areas. I could tell it was in the 20's a lot. Aside from this, I am glad we have vsync as I cannot stand screen tearing.

This is basically the same performance as Black Flag. Clearly Ubi didn't have devs spend a lot of time and resources to full utilize the unique capabilities of the Wii U hardware. I find DF to normally have pretty good info but I do take issue with the last this statement:

Seems like a slight jab or that the Wii U isn't more capable when clearly games built from the ground up show it can hold it's own. You really can't blame hardware when you have a developer like Ubisoft... having nearly 300 + fixes for Unity. If they can improve frame rate, bugs, and performance there, it could certainly be done across the board in all their other games.

I personally am not a fan of what digital foundry does but that's not what bugs me. When it comes to nintendo games their wording gets real suspect. They make it seem like the worst piece of crap hardware. Why not call out ubisoft as a crap developer and say the console deserves better. I highly doubt much work was done to polish this game in those 6 months. With that said I am enjoying the game. It plays well enough for me.

It's funny how it's only rainbowty third parties that make wii u games that look "last-gen". Decent third parties and Nintendo don't seem to have any problem creating games that are a graphical improvement over PS3/360.

Sending games to die is just wrong, they could at least release this before the others with proper gamepad controls and could of easily copped 50,000-100,000 units. I do have to agree with Wyd, that third are just taking the mic now. I have to say that the wording is not the problem but them not bringing up the release date and how it will affect the game is just sad.

But maybe that was a good decision? ^^
