Santa Ana, Calif. (March 4, 2015) – NIS America is thrilled to announce that first print copies of the Wii U version of Rodea the Sky Soldier will also come packaged with the Wii version of the game! The Wii version will be exclusive to the retail version of the game and available for the first printing. This is currently planned for both North America and Europe. Players will be delighted to experience creator Yuji Naka’s original vision for Rodea!

Well. I'll buy this if I can get it at Best Buy, I guess. Seems pretty neat. :o

I am hoping it's like the Japan release... each game in it's own box. I will be getting it either way, and 3ds version too. It was on Amazon a couple weeks back but taken off. Probably will go up again and to other retailers soon. It is up on NewEgg.

I'll really have to consider this. Especially because of that first-run.

Some people always have a cellphone on them. I'm so awesome I always have a 3DS.

This may be a dumb question but what's the draw of having the Wii version exactly?? Is it the same game in lower resolution?

"So four years ago, Yuji Naka and Prope revealed a game called Rodea the Sky Soldier for the Wii and 3DS. Since then, it’s undergone some pretty big changes as their collaborator, Kadokawa Games, seemingly took their sweet time publishing and advertising the game. While Yuji Naka said that the Wii version was finished, Kadokawa hadn’t given any updates on when it’d come out aside from them giving more information “in the near future” and the 3DS version supposedly still being worked on.
It wasn’t until late last year when the game was re-revealed that we’d actually get more information. It turned out that Kadokawa and Prope had pretty much been making an entirely new game for Wii U and 3DS, with them also releasing the original Wii game in a bundle with the Wii U version. As for the differences between the new and old versions: it seems like the original game is more arcadey and score-based, while the new game has a bigger focus on adventure and story"

Ah ok, so they're different games. "Wii version of the game" from the OP makes it sound like the Wii U game is just a port. Thanks!

Hmm I picked up NIGHTS for the Wii a while back and I can't say I enjoyed it, it was a cool idea, but kinda meh. I am thinking about this one, was thinking digital if available, but the first print run with the wii version is tempting just to have it and see how its like.

Holy crap. They're actually two separate games!? This will definitely be my next pre-order as soon as I find the spare cash.
