Ok imagine this. It sounds farfetched, but I think its believable and within the realms of possibility.

---

First person view

A 20 something guy is playing a new 3D Super Mario game on what looks like a Wii U gamepad, but it';s slightly different, analogue triggers, brighter, clearer touchsreen, and slight indentations on all the controls. His alarm goes off for his dentist appointment on his smartphone.

He pauses the game and walks over to the TV and plucks the NX system out of its charging cradle, opens it up and resumes his game where he left off, and continues playing outside on route to the dentist appointment.

Cut to after its darker now on the bus and a low battery symbol warns him he's on low battery. He simply TWISTS OFF the second screen and the game switches to just being played on the bottom screen. The battery life rises roughly 20%

We then cut to show that both the NX gamepad and the controls on teh main portable are modular and can either be swapped for circle pads to full on analogue sticks, you can even pimp them out with SNES N64 and gamecubed themed buttons, alongside faceplates which can bet swapped!

We then cut to Nintendo's logo and the NX's name.

---

Would you buy this console. Say if they had a basic that wasn't backward compatible due to its x86 architecture, and a pro one that came with a gamepad, charging dock that allowed on TV play, and backward compatibility? I'd probably also have a preview at the end of all the launch games, especially push the third party support too. Such as people playing the full console version of Battlefield 5 on the subway against each other locally or playing GTA6 on TV and then on the bus. Or something

A commercial for the console we know nothing about?

No.Not a new idea either. The swappable buttons is basically what Wii was, addons and I don't want that again. It's bad enough Wii U has so many control options but when you add a crap load there is no standard and puts off developers more they have to program for so many things. That's a hindrance, not to mention a bunch of stupid expensive add ons. The other part of magic batteries..nope.

Also stop with X86. X86 is garbage.

It all sounds terrible.

Oh because PC architecture is sooooo terrible. Yeah all the developer's who use developer friendly architecture say Hi, and goodbye to the Wii U.

As someone who actually now has a job in the industry, I can tell you that from a development point of view, new controls and extra screens brighten up our day. Do you know how horrendous developing a game is? Day in and day out building the same rainbow for sometimes YEARS on end, testing, building, testing, building on the same god damn stuff. When something new and exciting comes along we're all god damned relieved to work on something fresh. What we horsing HATE is when we hit something like Nintendo's unique architecture. Something that usually works doesn't, framerates drop below 14 frames. And Nintendo provide bullocks ALL technical support. So NEVER tell me what developers want. It's Nintendo hipster like YOU that makes third parties glad they aren't taking Nintendo fans money and giving their products to people who appreciate their art.

X86 is terrible period. It has no efficiency. It's a source hog.it can't run without throwing more power. Wii U's hardware has nothing to do with developer support. Wii U hardware is very well thought out and everything is made to work with everything. Not slapped together. It's a single factor alone. They are Nintendo and their is a true bias against them for no real good reason. Wii U is a very well designed system and not nearly as far behind as people think. Does not matter if Wii U had PS4's power and PS4 had Wii U's power. PS4 still be selling better. PS2 was much weaker than Gamecube. Nintendo brought it with Gamecube and the weaker system one because people, media and most AAAAAA developers have a stigma and bias. No further proof than the terrible half assed ports at launch. Why bring ME3 when you could have brought the trilogy? Most those games were not adapted for the Wii U but shoved in there like a square peg in a round hole. When developers did try we got Dues EX,Need for Speed,Razers Edge. Or published games like Bayonetta 2. If games like Xenoblade Chronicles X,Splatoon,Zelda U Mario Kart 8,Trine 2,Art of Balance,Fast Racing Neo don't show you it's not the hardware then you need glasses.

Need for Speed,Dues Ex are identical to the PC versions. Black Flag actually looks and runs slightly better on Wii U than Xbox One. No not saying Wii U has more power saying it's a better port.

PS3 SUUUUUUUUUCKED to develop for because of Cell. It still got all the developer support in it's life. Wii U isn't terrible to develop for ,it's not SEGA saturn. PS3 was.  Wii U is just a console like PS360 were consoles.

Love the random name calling. Reported. Anyway dude I am best friend with a guy who worked on many games at R* now working on Treachery in Beatdown Ctiy. He liked Wii U hardware over others. Guess neither voice speaks for everyone huh. Since 2013 after my tribute video to the death of the Grandia series creator. Noriyuki Iwadare and me talk often. He composed the music and for Ys III and Lunar. If you want to trade geek points and show off.

Sorry to break it to ya but as if the huge Turbografx16 sig or Dogi as my avatar or link in my sig to my collection,Nintendo is far from the only thing I buy dude.

You won't make it far in the industry if when people don't like your stuff or ideas you lash out at them and name call. Because it works so well for Phil Fish and Dennis Dyack didn't it.

Interesting. I do expect 2nd screen experience to remain and off tv play to be a standard feature (dedicated button either on hardware of software) . I think the internals will once again be custom and not x86. I don't expect a hybrid device, Nintendo will want to maintain different hardware devices but just that they will work even more closely together.

We have pretty much NO idea what this console is, besides that it's got something to do with mobile and it's going to work alongside the Wii u and 3DS, everything else is a mystery.
