Standard Weapons

Paint Brush: This is the most traditional weapon in the game and remains one of the quickest ways to cover the map with your team’s colors. It’s pretty speedy with average stats.

Splattershot: This is the default weapon and all around jack of all trades. Everyone starts with this one, so expect to encounter it a lot.

Splat Roller: This is the big ink roller you see wielded in some of the promotional videos. It covers the ground quickly with lots of paint and when it’s not against the ground, you can throw big splats of paint in a wide arc in front of you. If your splat hits head-on, it’s typically a one-shot KO.

Hot Blaster: This is basically like a grenade launcher. It has a slow rate of fire, but upon contact each shot bursts into a load of paint that covers a pretty big area. Direct hits with the Hot Blaster are a one-shot KO.

.52 Gal: This is the big gun of the series, basically a mini-gun for area control. It has a pretty slow rate of fire compared to some of the other blasters, but each bullet is deadly.

Splattershot: Default weapon with balanced stats. There’s nothing too special about it.

Splat Charger: This is the rocket launcher of Splatoon. It’s capable of covering a wide area like a shotgun, but you can also hang back and shoot a huge area of paint from far away.

Splattershot Jr.: A mini-rifle that functions essentially like a sub-machine gun. It has a super fast rate of fire and covers area quickly, but the erratic rate means you may not get good enough coverage for your squid partners to glide through unless someone heavier comes in behind you and fills out the area
.

Special Weapons

There are four special weapons in Splatoon. These special weapons are not usable until players fill up their ink gauge by splattering ink all over the map. These special weapons can really help with area control and reclaiming portions of the map that may have been lost to the opposing side.

Bubbler: This is less of a weapon and more of a tool for defense. It’s a cone of protection that can be passed among players to allow them to deflect damage for a short period of time. If you’re familiar with Team Fortress 2, it works similarly to the Medic’s Ubercharge, only another player doesn’t need to maintain the charge on the player receiving the buff.

Killer Wail: A meter that fills up as the players paint more of the map. Once the meter is full, it produces a powerful tidal wave of color, helping to turn the tide and producing a ton of damage for any enemy caught within its area of affect.

Inkstrike: Produces a huge mushroom cloud of paint, but it’s very, very slow rate of fire. If you’re familiar with aerial strikes in other games. It’s like a reserve RPG for when times are really tough and you need to take out a lot of people in a small area.

Inkzooka: Pretty much as the name implies, it’s a big bazooka-style weapon. It’ll splat out paint over a huge area and the projectiles pack a lot of power. It’s a pretty fast reload but you’re pretty much a sitting duck while you wait for it to reload.
Which weapon sounds like the one you’ll use the most?

I love this,
