I am experiencing an issue with my Wii U system that had happened to 2 seperate systems now on me that have been replaced by warranty.
My new Wii U that I received about 2 months ago (as well as my original one) one day just decided to stop working. My gamepad worked as it usually does with no issue but the signal to my television had a pink tint and the display had waves and lines. The Nintendo HDMI cord, as well as other HDMI cords I have, will work on other devices such as my laptop but do not work on the Wii U system.
Upon troubleshooting I discovered that by changing the output from 1080p to 480p, i could get a clear but of course poor quality image on my television. But changing it to any other output setting does not work at all.
Yes I have tried this on more than 1 tv and as stated, with more than 1 HDMI cable. The only guess Nintendo cutomer service had was that my receiver that I had it running through may have caused the issue. That doesn't really sit right with me I want to be able to use my Wii U system with my surround sound so I am curious to see who, if anyone, out there has experienced something similar to this.
Any input is appreciated thank you for reading
