Ok, so hear me out:

 

Commercial starts out with a white background and four or eight Inklings in squid form in a row, doing the Magikarp in tempo with the Splatoon theme song playing. The squids will alternately switch to kid form - some with musical instruments and some with out - and dance or play to the song (bonus would be if the tone of the song changes to match the personality of the current kids and their instruments), and the kids will alternate between kid and squid form (so some will be kids and others will be squids) and eveytime they jump to kid form their clothes and personality (maybe ink colour too, if any) change to a different form (so some will be more trendy with simple boogie, others would be punk and would rock out, and so on.

 

This continues until they all get rolled over with a splat roller at the end of the commercial.

The current commercials have been cheesy but if a fun and interesting kind of way. The tag line of I'm a kid, I'm a squid now is great and the tune is catchy. 

 

I like your idea and can picture it, basically showing all sorts of different expressions of players and the ability to show it off.  The branding of this game will continue to mature and improve, along with the game itself.

good call. I would hope they continue running the ad campaign, but changing it up as you said. Keep the ink fresh or the roller, rolling.

Thinking able this, I think this would be a great way to advertise a new feature: taunts. Like in Smash you can do different taunts, like playing air guitar with the splatoon charger or shooting the splattergun straight into the air. Maybe the taunts could also vary depending on clothes and weapons, such as adjusting glasses or flipping hair (and the Amiibo robot costume could do the robot dance)
