Develop is reporting that "Nintendo’s next generation hardware will be roughly twice as powerful as Microsoft’s current system, the Xbox 360". This is according to a source within a game development studio. But, despite the fact that these specs would be "above market expectations", the source mentioned that they:

...heard [a project designer] complain it's underpowered compared to what Nintendo announced, resulting in people having to de-scale their plans.

And, to clarify, these claims do not contradict the numbers mentioned yesterday. That rumor from IGN was focused on the GPU, while these claims are talking about the general processing power of the Wii U. Develop believes that IGN's calculation, "if true, echoes claims from the Develop source who claims the Wii U is far more powerful than current expectations.
