A cool start up would be a nice bonus, but unfortunately, I doubt it's going to be very high on Nintendo's list of priorities. They haven't put much thought into the start ups for their last few consoles, so I'm not expecting one on the Wii U. I'd like to be proven wrong though.
I hope Nintendo makes a cool start up for Wii U!

Here's an idea... Since Nintendo seems very reluctant to let go of the whole safety warning thing, how about a compromise?
Have the safety screen display on the controller's screen, while a fancy startup video and jingle plays on the TV screen. Would be a cool little way to demo the features of the new controller too.

This is a very nice idea. The only small problem would be if you aren't using the tv, but it wouldn't really be too big of a deal to not have the start up in that case.

How about this idea. The first time you start the system up on the Tablet it asks, do you wish to create a Start-up Screen, but written out better. So you get to draw or take a pictures and make a 15 sec start up but can always be bypassed by touching a button. Later you can upload your creation to the NFC??? i forget the name of what their network was called, and can download other creations you may like or add-ons based off Coins?/Trophies???

That is a great idea. It reminds me of 2ks downloadable team rosters. The name is Nintendo Network. But it can work like a more advanced version of flipnotes.

Yea i think you had the z button on startup the sounds come from using 1, 2, or 4 controllers
