There is a large source for rumours about the Wii U that come from a single source. It’s a blog about the Wii U that continues to make things up to garner the attention of bigger sites. Their latest lie relates to the date the Wii U will supposedly be released. They say they’ve obtained an e-mail from a Japanese retailer which states the Wii U will be released on the 18th of November, 2012.
And yes, that’s a very likely release date. But they don’t “know” it because they have a source of information, or because retailers know the release date of the system. They don’t. It’s a probable estimation based on what we already know. And that’s it.
The problem is, sites like Eurogamer are now reporting on it, and that makes it appear much more legitimate, when the original source of the article is pure fabrication. I love rumours and speculation, and I don’t try to say otherwise, but I’ve never (and will never) simply say something I know isn’t true. But this site, which I choose not to name as to not direct any traffic to them, continue to report on things that are false.
Please don’t believe them. There are real sources of information out there. But after seeing and reporting on so many rumours and speculation, you start to have at least some idea of know what’s believable and what is empty and irrelevant. This rumour, along with the other rumours from this blog fall into the latter category.
This isn’t the first time this has happened, either. You can click here to read a previous rant I wrote about the same site, their same lies, and the same reasons their stores are pure fabrication.
