
A few days ago, I reported on a fabricated “rumor“, which plays on people’s expectations (which is why people are happy to believe it, despite it being baseless). But now IGN has jumped on the bandwagon by sharing the above photo of an e-mail from a GameStop manager. This manager is talking about the release of the Wii U.
But they ignore the fact that the original rumour is the manager’s source of their information. Plenty of sites reported on it as if it had a shred of credibility, so it’s not hard to believe a manager was misled, and yet the report ignores this obvious fact. As I’ve said before, don’t believe it, and be more skeptical.
