Earlier this month, there was a rumor that the Wii U will include a “Gamer Card” device. This would be a pedometer-like accessory that would provide StreetPass-like functionality, but for your home console. The same source has now shared that, supposedly, this card will:
- Be able to StreetPass with any 3DS that has connected to the Nintendo Network.
- Cost between five to ten dollars (although one will be included with the console itself).
- Feature “a small, low-res GBA like LCD screen”.
It’s an idea that I think Nintendo would try, but it doesn’t feel like something they’d make a central part of the experience (meaning, I think it would be an accessory that comes at a later time). But of course, E3 2012 will reveal all. For the time being, what do you think?
