A thought occurred to me. Nintendo has launched a Facebook page for the Wii U. That, to me, seems to squash any potential for the system’s name to change. I’m sure Nintendo could change the name of their Facebook page without much trouble if that is what they wanted. But it would be strange for them to further cement in the minds of their fans that the platform is called the Wii U, only to rename it a few days later.
