Xavier Poix of Ubisoft France was asked, “How many players can you get on the Wii U at once?” He replied:
On the controller it’s just the one. One person. But you can still play with the four Wiimotes if you have four. So it adds up to five players.
But there’s two counter-points to this:
- He might just be talking about there being only support for one GamePad in Rayman Legends.
- Ubisoft said they have earlier dev kits during their press conference. The support for multiple GamePads is rumored to have been added recently.
I wouldn’t consider this a flat-out denial of support for simultaneous GamePads, but if clarification isn’t made at Nintendo’s press conference, I’d start to worry.
