I agree with his rant, but the grade isn't the grade I'd give them.

The points are 100% valid, you couldn't give Nintendo a higher grade. The conference just fell flat, after the whole conference I later found out the games were pretty good but the presentation just made me seem these games were pointless and I doubt other gamers bothered checking what Nintendo is doing on the show floor.

Hi, my name is Alph. I live on a planet named Koppai. I am famous for saving my planet from starvation. My best friends are Brittany and Captain Olimar, NOT Captain Charlie. I like surfing the KopNet and playing Kopetball.

He looks at it "old games" F
I look at it "Nintendo getting mainline third party games, finally" A++++++++++++++++++
Though my grade wasn't A++++++++++++++

It's a double edged sword. It may have ticked that third party box but to me that's just spin. The importance of third party support weighs more on my grade than his.

Nintendo may have these third parties but are people really going to buy a Wii U just for AC3. No doubtSony and MS will release more powerful hardware and Sony especially has the teams to build those games. We don't see he true potential from Nintendo yet, the games they've released just look like Wii games put on an emulator that upreses them.
My question of the day is can Nintendo's teams create experience similar to Epic and Naughty Dog?
What core gamer a year later would buy a Wii U if the newer third party titles out on other next gen consoles out do Nintendo or Wii U doesn't receive those games.
That's scary for anyone that wants to invest in that platform. I am going to invest in it, because there's two things again. The lack of console install base will tell third parties not to put out games for the platform. Then there's the problem if you invest in this console and there's potential it is severally outdone by the other consoles.
I want to, but I want to know if Nintendo has the resources and if third parties are even going to bother.

Maybe because it is an upscaled Wii game.
We haven't seen anything they've built for the console yet apart from Miiverse and Nintendoland, which are hardly graphics excellencies.
It's definitely a problem for them.
They can, but not every game needs to be a movie-game.My question of the day is can Nintendo's teams create experience similar to Epic and Naughty Dog?

It's hard to explain what I'm trying to put across. They can, but not every game needs to be a movie-game.
What Naughty Dog and Epic do is push the boundaries of games that we see. If you go back to Skyward Sword and look at shanes first reactions about how it just shows for the past 5 years Nintendo is still stuck in the past when compared to RPG released on the HD consoles (I only played FFXIII this gen, it was Ok, I really enjoyed the story, don't get why people said the characters and the story was bad. WRPG other than dark souls don't appeal to me, I don't get them) it was very limited and everything was sparce.
That's a fear I have that Nintendo teams could screw up on making a good HD experience where the world isn't sparce and that the games aren't just upscaled/better textured Wii games.
NSMBU is the perfect example, when it came to Wii, it had way more content in levels than the DS game. Rather than the Wii U game being an evolution of that game it just seems like an upscaled version of the Wii game.
Though if the garden demo and the zelda demo are anytthing to go by, then Nintendo can do it.

The guy behind Watch Dogs was saying on IGN either yesterday or earlier today that it's been in development for the past 2 years, and won't be out for at least another year, and this is from a company used to making HD games.

But Pikmin is an upscale Wii game so we need to see what they can really do with 3d HD graphics.I Think the who point of what is trying to be made is that Epic and Naughty Dog seem to be on the more risk taker approach to games in terms of graphics. Nintendo on the other hand while risk takers as well, we have not seen anything with this new hardware. What we were looking for was the wow factor Gears of War gave us and all the Uncharted games gave us. Now don't get me wrong Pikmin 3 does look great but compare to the Japanese garden tease which was on early dev equipment, we were hyped for some Nintendo greatness which they failed to deliver by focusing on trying to get the casual players on board with "safe" new content the casual crowd loooonnng forgot about and giving the core a scraps of titles old, we knew about, or just plain outright didn't care about. We were basically dying of thirst at the nintendo conference and all we got was salt water. Hopefully as bad as the conference(s) were this year, next year Nintendo brings their A game to make up for this year. It took me all week to get over my dissapointment with Nintendo and there is still a little bit of anger there (wusa...) but I will still be there day 1 to get my hands on a Wii U.
