i have no clue how they did this but its pretty awesome. i think this will be quite revolutionary, hopefully it won't hurt the 3DS though

Well, if the technology isn't that much more expensive than current 3DS screens, maybe Nintendo will improve the system at some point.

The only problem is that they'd have to offer it for free to current 3DS owners if they decided to put that in, which would have them take a hit in sales.

not necessarily they could make it a redesign a few years down like the DSI

That'd work for me. Doubt I'd buy it unless my current one screws up though.

3d without glasses have been around for some time... just different method... before 3ds was out, I remember seeing a video where it shows 3d effect without glasses, using face tracking... it was awesome, definitely can be captured on camera.. though might be not practical to use in gaming..
urhhh.. potatoes?

I love this idea. Of course the 3ds is gonna update without angle probs sometime in the future, but for now, just enjoy the 3D gaming experience in general. This is a revolutionary technology that is going to change everything. But right now just enjoy every gaming experience. :)

yea, this is not as big of news as you would think, 3d methods go around every day it seems
but if it is cheep and portable and well for video's. then it could get enough ground to have nintendo make another 3ds based off of the new 3d screen tech

Miyamoto said recently that the 3DS' successor is already in the planning stages. Wouldn't surprise me at all if they kept the 3D feature and used this new technology to drastically improve it. 2017 maybe? ^_^

I'd rather just have them put the 3D without viewing issues in their next portable console. Not a 3DS redesign, I'm not a big fan of redesigns. Because it's the console you already own, but yet the enhanced features make you want to buy it really bad. But in the end you don't buy it. But it's only for bigger things like a back light ( GBA SP, DS Lite) or just a bunch of new features ( DSi with the shop, apps and camera). Size doesn't matter to me ( GBA Micro, DSi XL and 3DS XL). Despite having better battery life ( 3DS XL and DSi XL) it's not enough for a new $200 purchase when you have the same console, just smaller.

I extremely doubt that they could fix the angle issues with an update, it would seem that they would have to modify the hardware rather than just simply updating the existing hardware.
If what i said was the case, it would make game development for the 3DS much harder because they would have to modify the 3D effect to allow their games to work on both the original 3DS and the new one.

Wow, i don't make a lot of sense

Im just taking a guess, nothing i usually say is right

This guy is dodgy.
And they've missed their release deadlines multiple times before.

Let's see.

Why do you think so? The 3ds's gpu outputs two images. The only thing they have to change is the screen. I promise that it won't be a problem.

I'm just making a guess, I'm not that great at technical stuff.

But do tell me more, what do you mean by "changing the screen"?

Basically replacing the screen the 3DS uses now with the new one.
