That being that you couldn't find it anywhere for the first 8 months or so? Or do you think Nintendo has learned the need to produce more consoles?

8 months?

Where I live you couldn't find a Wii until 2009 :o Thankfully I bought mine at launch :D

As for the Wii U, I really don't know. Perhaps it will not sell like pancakes like the original Wii so they won't have the same shortage but who knows...

Nope, I dont think we will have a problem finding them to be honest. I think actually the Wii U's launch will be ok. I think as time goes on and people see more games that interest them coming to the WII U then they will buy it.

Well, the Wii was such an awkward thing at that time, so I suppose Nintendo didn't think it would sell as much as it did.

But honestly, the Launch title list isn't exactly "to die for" yet, so we'll see.

I had to wait only until January for the Wii, luckily I had a friend who worked at Toys R Us that got a shipment and bought two for him and two sell to me hahaha.
Hopefully I don't have to wait at all this year though..

I doubt it."NO ONE" saw the Wii selling the way it did when it launched. So the potential is there but we have to wait and see. It Wii U is one cool a$$ sexy machine.

I think the Wii U will sell well, not as much as the Wii though. I think Nintendo will produce enough consoles. :)

It might. It may be much smaller in comparison, but I think the sales may be quite numerous.

I agree. The initial Wii popularity and demand came out of nowhere and even caught Nintendo by surprise. The Wii U will not have the same mass market casual gamer frenzy the Wii had. I'm sure it will do well but Nintendo will probably make enough to go around and the demand won't be at the same level as it was with the Wii.

Nintendo will try to repeat the wii formula that was so successful making consumers think there is a limited supply and causing panic buying with parents desperate to please their kids at christmas time. If they get it right the papers should be filled with stories of parents attacking each other over the last wii u console in the store. The wii u is a great overall package and its probably going to be quite reasonably priced so I really think Nintendo can do really well with the wii u but not so sure they can achieve quite the same level of sales as the original wii, I really hope they do though, because more sales means more great new Nintendo titles.

I seriously doubt it. Maybe more like the Vita...sold out in a few places here or there but otherwise readily available. I think the fanboys are overestimating the demand of this thing.

We should all know by now that underestimating Nintendo is dangerous. Wii U has every bit the same potential as Wii. I wouldn't be surprised at all if it oversells It's initial stock.

But we should also know from the 3DS' initial launch that overestimating them can be just as dangerous. Initial sales of a system won't always flow like water like the Wii did. We simply have to wait and see.

They need to sell it out there before launch so that people actually know that the Wii U is out there to buy.

I don't know what it's like in the states or Japan, you guys probably have had the majority of the population exposed. Here, the last thing that was Wii U related on the TV was that time Peter Overton said "Oh look, it was shown at E3. Look forward to it."

And I think that Nintendo will have a hard time making the approach to the consumers that aren't so in the loop on video game technology.

Trophy Cards are classy too! LOLZIGZAGOON
