can nintendo pull off these graphics next gen? it might not be identical but i think with modern tech and their great developers and artist they can come closer than most would expect. i believe the world and art style is right up nintendo's alley. what do you guys think?

I actually think Nintendo can better that. :)

Hi, my name is Alph. I live on a planet named Koppai. I am famous for saving my planet from starvation. My best friends are Brittany and Captain Olimar, NOT Captain Charlie. I like surfing the KopNet and playing Kopetball.

It could probably do it partially pre-rendered quite easily but if you mean an open world type game I reckon it could do something fairly close. I mean Ratchet and Clank on PS3 is visually pretty stunning and thats on a weaker GPU than 360 and the wii U should be capable of something slightly beyond 360. Cartoon graphics like this are easier to render as you get to repeat textures more regularly and often they don't need to be so high definition. I guess its related to how well it does reflection effects and how much it can do them which are quite important for metallic surfaces.

Certainly something close, I think. Even if the Wii U doesn't end up rivalling Xbox 720 and PS4 in power, remember that Nintendo still knows their hardware better than anyone and can pull off some amazing stuff with it. Super Mario Galaxy was unique in that it looked nearly graphically as good as a 360 game, and put into HD it probably would have been on par with quite a few. I don't find it impossible at all that there could be a few games for Wii U, probably first party, that end up pushing the hardware so much they produce graphics we didn't even think were possible on the system. ^_^

No, we won't be able to run those graphics in realtime until like 2030.

Real time raytracing is only possible on Geforce Kepla cards right now. And a GTX 680 can't even do raytracing so well in realtime.

The real fear I have is they will actually do a Robots game because that movie was truly terrible. It seems harmless enough at the beginning but before you know it your spewing vomit and kicking the tv in. Such an irritating movie.

Yes, because they always make video games 7 years after the movie.

Zelda would have been great, if all it was was flying through hoops......I mean most games seem to concerntrate on trivial things like "decent ganeplay" "visuals" "good storyline" and "removing hidious bugs"

Why have those when you can repetively fly through hoops and throw cars? Thus Superman 64 was the greatest game of all time, apart from E.T on the Atari 2600

Have you never heard of a sequel to a movie which could then get its own game? These do happen even further apart than 7 years. Clearly I'm hopeing in this instance it doesn't happen though.

Ha, you never said sequel. They are not making a sequel anyways.

Um... No. The CGI in all CGI films is not rendered live and takes farms of special computers, dedicated to rendering alone, to produce those effects.

I don't see any cosole, not even within the next 10 years, producing Hollywood CGI movie graphics in real-time. Hopefully I'm wrong, but technologically speaking I seriously doubt it's possible.
