I want to make a game [like] a Link to the Past/Gameboy Zelda games(gameplay-wise/ open-world).

I was wondering if you guys would like to help me with the ideas and other stuff I need.

The game will be free it's just something I would like to do and I think it would be a fun project to release.

If you want to help with the following just tell me:

-Character Ideas
-Level Ideas
-Location/dungeon design Ideas
-Enemies Ideas
-Beta tester ( Computer must be able to hold 50-100 mb easily)( Would be nice if you're at least decent at grammar and spelling to find typos)
-Music/sound Ideas
-Weapon/Skills/Abilities Ideas
-Easter Egg Ideas
-Storyline Ideas/ or Main storyline writer
-General Writing for Random NPC/Other stuff
-Sidequest Ideas.
-General Ideas

If you want to help you can do more than one area. Just be active at least twice a week if you can only show up once a week just pick one area.

This just for fun. A tribute to Zelda in a way.Going to be made by fans for fans. What is not to like!

[Note: I will code the game and update constantly everyone apart of the project. Will do general updates to people not in the project]

You should see if any chiptune artists are interested in helping you,chances are you may not get support from musoc artists straight away.

I think its great that you want to make a game inspired by zelda as it is my favourite series, mabey you should base it around something like the egg, i think that would make a great story.

Also keep the graphics pixelated, it's easier to make and looks way better

. Maybe something back when Majora wasnt a mask and the demon was ruling Termina and Ikana with a reign of tyranny. Adult link living in the swamp wakes up one day and Majoras army marches in to the swamp and starts to burn everything and takes Links sweatheart (Zelda) and Link goes after her. When Majora slaghters its victims it turns them into masks for keepsakes, and this is the backstory of all masks in Hyrule and termina. As link traverses through the decrepit wasteland that Majora has destroyed, there is only a few settlements left, and the only come out at day for they fear the warriors of the night (Majoras Army) Link learns of an ancient power that Majora has been using to take the souls of people and turn them into Masks. He also learns of a Shield that has been broken and can block this power. He then goes off into various dungeons and fortresses collecting these shards. When he has them all, he learns there is no way to repair the shield, but the King of Ikana knows, he sets off to Ikana which has long been at war with Majora. He finds his way through the castle and he is just beat by Majora and his army, in a dying breath the king tells Link of four giants whos power can repair the shield. Link now goes to the swamp, Mtn, Bay, and finally back to Ikana to find the giants. They repair the shield and Link goes to Majoras keep in the middle of Termina Field (where clock town is) and fights his way through the keep and then faces off against Majora.(In the battle room all the masks in MM can be seen on mantles on the wall) Majora speaks in a sadistic tone and talks about Zelda's Demise and points to her mask on the wall. They begin fighting and the battle is remarkably more difficult than in MM and in the end Link cannot find a way to stop his god like powers. But when his shield is hit by a blast of light by Majora then it charges and shines, it can then relfect blasts. Link is forced to reflect his spell that turns people into masks and it turns Majora into a mask. At this moment the keep crashes down and all thats left is a clock tower. Link then journeys to hide the mask but gets lost and is attacks by ritualistic tribe and they steal his mask and and murder link, they then become afraid of the mask and lock it away because of the evil powers it possesses. The End.
That would be my perfect Zelda game.

This is just an idea filled post i made earlier today on this forum, feel free to take anything you like. Also, you should make a course on a ship, or in an abandoned mine, or a zoo that some animals went psychotic and took over. Just some ideas.

You should do a story about how the old man ends up in the cave in The Legend of Zelda Your story should explain who he is, how he got the sword, and why he ended up chillin in the cave. Basically, he should start out as an early 20s guy (farmer, blacksmith, etc.) and go on your grand Zelda style adventure, only to end up in a cave so he could do his duty to finish saving the world. Just spit balling some basic ideas. Give him a title, but not an actual name, such as mysterious man, farmer guy, etc. (something better but you get the idea). That's my pitch for the basic overall story line. Someone much more creative and talented should come up with the meaty stuff in the middle. I'd be more than happy to brainstorm with someone.
