Hey guys, quick question about the compatibility with these controllers. I know it's been said that almost all Wii accessories will be compatible with the Wii U, but I'm wondering if the Classic Controller Pro and "first gen" Wiimotes (those that came out before the built in MotionPlus) be compatible?

Personally, I think they will be "compatible", but I think Nintendo is trying to let us know that going forward all future Wii U titles will only support Wii Mote + and the Pro Controller. I'm pretty sure you can use your old Wii Motes and Classic Controllers for VC titles and old Wii games.

I'm pretty sure they said it would all be compatible - the Wii motes all are anyways - they will be rebranding them as Wii U motes with built in Motion Plus shortly after launch or right around I think.

That's a good question. And one I dont know. My guess is that neither are compatable.

I was once known here as KillerMario, but since I really like Banjo-Kazooie, I changed my display name to show them my respect :)

I thought I remembered them saying something about a little while before launch.

Yes, non Wiimote plus controllers will be compatible with the Wii U and well as the classic controller. Whether or not games will be is up to the developer.

They said "nearly all" to be exact.

a bit slow round here guys,, nintendo has already confirmed that the wm+ only remotes idea has been dropped and all non and with wm+ remotes are now totally compatable with wiiu and pro controller classic from wii has also been officially supported in black ops 2 wiiu

so its wii remote and nunchuck /pro pad/gamepad/and classic pad pro all supported in black ops 2 i was wondering if classic pads would get support and they have all wii and wiiu controls work ALL OF THEM

developers can choose between wm+ remotes and standard and can support ether or both thats how it stands regie said in the media breafing that the wm+ only idea has bin dropped due to the global userbase of the wi remotre standard but devs can make games wm+ only if they wish to
