ZombiU is What Resident Evil 6 Should be.

This game has some really great ideas, like the permadeath. Then you have to go back and find your old zombie self to get your inventory back. That's awesome. This game may not end up being great, but I think ZombiU 2 where they build upon everything and fix things could be incredible.

Seriously, this game looks 10 times better than RE6. Combine the style of this game with the characters and world of RE and you would have an all-time great game.

Honestly RE5 kind of made me loose interest in the series. ZombiU However really excites me due to It's uniqueness

Resident Evil is nothing like it used to be, and I am starting to lose interest in the series too. I still do want to play 6, but depending on that game is whether I will stick with the series or not.

I haven't played Ada's scenario yet off course, but that one looks really promising as well. Kind of like RE4, I saw some creepy areas already and it just fit into the series from what I've seen.
So, I'll mostly buy this game for Leons and Adas scenarios, and take Chris' and Jakes scenario as cool story extras, and for when I feel like playing something different.

I'm an RE fan, primarily because of RE1, which is the whole origin of the survival horror genre, and I can honestly say that I am pleased with RE6 so far. Some people are taking it way too hard. I admit, Chris' scenario just felt like a generic third person shooter (just had a cool boss). Jakes scenario was alright for a change, but Leons scenario just shines. I almost can't describe how good it felt to actualy kill those slow Zombies once again, in dark areas, limited ammo (I ran out of ammo, yes), but with a revamped control/camera system that is actualy ACCEPTABLE anno 2012.

I loved Resident Evil 5 but then I had a co-op partner the whole time and I haven't played the first few games. I'm also not interested in trying to define what the series is supposed to be.
Meh. Leon's Scenario was incredibly easy for me and I had plenty of ammo. I actually had a harder time keeping hold on ammo in resident evil 5(during my first run I ran out of ammo alot in that game.). Resident evil 6 might give you less ammo on Leon's campaign but you don't really need it much anyway if you attack with melee when given the opportunity. Also you don't have to kill everything. On the way to the car I just ran straight there without any trouble. There was also alot of health laying around so I had no problem keeping that up either(though I did lose some every now and again mostly because I was trying to use the new counters they added and failing but also at other times.)
Zombi U so far seems to have a better concept than Resident Evil 6 but Resident Evil 6 still looks better to me. The length seems better and so does the variety in enemies etc. I'll have to wait and see how good Zombie U turns out especially the length. The thing about going through the game with one survivor makes me worry the game is only around 6 hours long, though I think I remember one of the director's saying "If it took you 30 hours the first time". We'll see I guess.
On another note it's funny OP mentions permadeath which could never work in the (main) Resident Evil series since every character is important and there aren't enough to keep replacing. It could work in a spin-off I guess.

Actually I think the first survival horror game I ever heard of was the original Alone in the Dark. As far as I know, ZombiU doesn't have unlimited characters, unless the game characters and their names are randomized.

Nah, not getting myself into yet another cop out about the Resident Evil series. That said, I'm not gonna comment about what Resident Evil 6 should or shouldn't be.
Trophy Cards are classy too! LOLZIGZAGOON

You guys, I just noticed something. What if you keep dying repeatedly on ZombiU... do the players eventually cycle around? Like if you played as Bob Hipposplasher on day 1, and died 40 times, do you eventually get to play as Bob again?
As far as I know, ZombiU doesn't have unlimited characters, unless the game characters and their names are randomized.
Just a guess, but isn't the point that Bob has turned into a zombie? Don't see how you'd get to play as him again since he's already turned.
