He basically says that Zelda and Metroid will help to attract the core gamers/hardcore Ninty fans to the console and they will look great in HD. Also that Nintendo Land will help fans imagine what the games could be like on the Wii U. (now let's just hope the games won't be gimmick heavy, even though a lot of serious and cool stuff that's not cliché could be done)

I'm really getting sick of these titles that have been branded on the gaming industry in this generation. It all needs to just go away. Gamers are Gamers no matter what types of games they play. I don't remember any of these titles being around back when people were playing Super Mario World and Mortal Kombat in the 90s. It's just getting out of control now.
Anyway, the video was good.

So he says Zelda and Metroid will help to attract "Core" gamers. Yeah? I think that's how it's always been.

He actually made it sound like we may not get a metroid game for a while. that kind of saddens me because I was banking on a new metroid game late next year
Other M was 2010, MP3 was 2007, MP2 2004 I think and MP1 2001/2002. That's an average span of 3 years. I'm sure we'll at least get a new announcement next year. Plus, Retro has been working on something and I think that after MOMs commercial failure they would really like the succesful Prime series back. That, and First Person games are all the rage at the moment!
