The rest Vary depending upon your tastes/experiences, but Number 1 is obviously Super Ghouls and Ghosts

Games that refuse to use Gameplay effectively to do anything are like films that refuse to use cinematography in film to do anything.

I don't have 10, but Dwarf Fortress is hard and well worth playing.

You should try Final Fantasy 7 for the Playstation, it's a cool game depending on your skills and how well you are. (i have 3 files: first one is my new one which i at Wutaii, going to fight Rapps. Second file is also Wutaii, but with Rapps killed. And the 3rd one is on disc 3, where i'm able to kill Jenova and Sephiroth)

I'd say: "I wanna be the guy" it is so awesome, and hard. There isn't much story, but still. It's just a good challenge for when your bored sometime.

so is Final Fantasy 4

There is a whole meme CATAGORY about Touhou being hard.

Depending on the game, and your ability with Bullet Hell/Scrolling Shooter games, it could take you 15-20+ tries to beat 'easy modo', and that mode doesn't even let you play the final level
