I have had this idea for a while, since you can use headphones with the controller.
If so. What games would you want to see that use 3D sound?

3D sound is not surround sound. I don't know how to explain it mainly because I was only recently introduced to it but sound is recorded through two microphones imitating the human ear. If you have headphones listen to these:

3D sound would really be awesome. Hopefully, it will happen and, I think it most probably will.

Very cool! Although I don't think the Wii U won't have it, I would love it if it did.

I've heard what seemed like 3D sound to me in some Wii games (though I might be confusing it for "virtual" surround). I can swear I heard something to that effect in Mario Party 8, for instance.

I don't think it's so much a hardware feature as it is one that individual developers can choose to program into their games. So my answer is yes, since it doesn't require any additional effort on Nintendo's part to support it in the hardware.

Of course, but it depends on your definition of 3D sound.

I myself think it will happen, since there is already a 3DS game that is going to use this technology.
The game that I would love that used this technology, would be a sequel to eternal darkness.
