When questioned about his thoughts on Metroid for the Wii U, Shigeru Miyamoto responded with:
…the kind of ideas I have on Metroid are already reflected in the mini-game that is devoted to the series in Nintendo Land, Metroid Blast.
That doesn’t mean we should expect the next Metroid to be a casual title though. I’m assuming the ideas he’s referring to in Metroid Blast are subtler than the fact that it’s perfect for parties. He’s also not the direct creator of the main Metroid titles, so this probably won’t offer much impact to any future iterations on the Wii U.
