LIAR! You can if you partition the drive. Only I didn't know that when I first asked.

I said that because the HDD might do on the Wii U what flash drives do on the 360. Once you hook it up to that system, it's hooked up to it for good. I can't remember the name it has.....

Drives that will be used by Wii U must be formatted by the system's Data Management system, meaning you can't use the drive with a PC without partitioning. However all data can be moved internally and externally through Wii U's OS.

So I think we should be good.

That's good enough for me. But I don't think I'll use my HDD for anything besides my Wii U.

Is confirmed you can play games directly from usb if it hasn't already been said, but i'm sure someone said it already.

Does that mean we can install games from the disc to the HDD? Because if so, INSTALL ALL THE GAMES!

doubt it.
they just showed nsmbu on internal storage and nintendoland on usb in the system menu

You're assuming that Wii U games bought on disc at retail will be installable on the internal storage or an external hard drive. That hasn't been stated or confirmed by Nintendo to my knowledge. I doubt they will be.

wasn't available on wii either but home brew made it possible.

Nintendo direct that the system can only use up to 2tb External harddrive so i wouldnt go 3. Make sure the 3.0 is backward compatible with 2.0. You may think all of them are but you will be surprised.
