My dad got me a Wii U yesterday, but sadly I have to wait until Christmas.


My family has a tradition to open one present on Christmas Eve though, so I want the Wii U to be my present opened. Would anyone be nice enough to give me the dimensions of both the deluxe and basic boxes? Thanks!

i would just wait till christmas morning just imagine the joy of opening your wii u. and if you got games you wont be able to play them till the next day if you did get the basic

Well, I don't know of anything else to try to open. And I guess I can just set it up if I get the basic one.

Nothing like a shiny new console on christmas morning, the consoles I've recieved for christmas so far are GBA SP, GameCube and a PS2, I've owned tonnes of consoles but the rest I brought myself, always makes me wonder how big my game collection would be if I still had them all, lol.

Feels like the last time I played a PS2 was yesterday, it feel's really wierd calling it retro..............

Okay so, what you're gonna do is...
On Christmas Eve, bring down weighing scales, and place every single present on them until you find the correct weight.
Then, get your tape measure out, and measure them all until the dimensions are correct.
Then open your Wii U.

This Christmas you'll get a Wii U though. Pick the most reasonable sized box.

When I got the Wii for Christmas it was hidden inside a box inside like 6 other boxes. The first one was like the size of big tube tv back then xD Dunno if your parents are that intuitive, but something to keep in mind!

Yeah I say go for the big one. It's pretty big. I got the deluxe but it was also heavy enough to strain a plastic bag when I had to carry it out the store. Dunno how much lighter the basic is.

lol. thats what i did for my son this yr but its because we wrap the ship box of his toy.
But last yr i got my brother in law a 42inch tv. Put the remote in a hot coco box lol. It was funny.

So yea if you dont see a box the size of the wii u box then just open up something else.

I'd cut out an ad for a Wii U and put it in a card or tiny package. Make the kid think they would get one, but it probably wouldn't be for a while until they are out of stock. Then pull a Christmas Story move.... "oh hey, I think there's one more present over there". Kid then proceeds to loose their mind. Classic.

I was only 3 when my brothers got the 64 for Christmas. Wish I could've remembered the joy and excitement. That thing WAS my childhood(:
