May I ask is their any sites that have external hardrives with their own power supply since I was going to buy something like http://www.newegg.co...N82E16822178251 but its doesn't have its own power supply.

Newegg has drives with their own power supplies last time I checked. Just keep looking :)

I'm assuming they are all above 60 or so dollar price range...

I think the power supply ones tend to be cheaper? I found a 1.5TB usb2.0 for 70. Dunno about the brand. http://www.newegg.co...N82E16822204111

That appears the cheapest the ones with power supplies are and its a bit to expensive for my taste and I don't need that much memory.

Yeah I know it's a bit more than needed, but a lot of smaller drives were the same price. Oh well. TigerDirect doesn't have much either... looking around a bit more.

I Think I know what it is, I wrote once here about it and as always they attack me.. hahahahaha I love it

The usb hdds that drain power from the usb socket as well as the transfer data.. they always conflict... Because the usb you connect them, must give extra power to the device and work properly... (power to turn on and power to do its work, from the same usb port) And nobody believed me!!!! I said this, 1 and a half year ago, when the rumors came up for external hdd connection.. I knew it from that time, that users will experience such a things.

I tell you what.. is your hard disk a usb hdd? or you bought an external case with internal hdd... After you answer that, can you please tell me, if the hdd drains its power from the usb as well, or it has its own power cable?

internal hdd + external case.. they come with independent power cable... and that helps it alot, because it doesnt drain power from the usb! I told them so many times at that time and they start trolling against me, as always and nintendo didnt listen!!...

There is usb ports that give extra power, to charge and connect external usb hdds.... hmmm have you tried a different usb port? maybe nintendo dedicated one usb port with extra power, just for this devices, but they are very skroutz with many things.. i dont think they have hahahaha.. And you know whats happening and you have this problems?????? If the hdd try to make many turns (work more and drain more power), the usb port is not capable of giving that power.. .so the hdd turns off... resetting and restarting.. and u have freezes... corrupts.

So, I suggest you try an internal hdd with external case (it will cost u a bit more but its a better quality) and try that... Before you buy that, check the wii U manuals, if there is a dedicated usb port especially for external hdds.
