How about a Pokemon like in the handhelds of the GB all the way to the DS and having a real adventure done in full 1080p? You are free to roam the world like in Pokemon XD for the Gamecube but not stop at dark Pokemon but all of them. You get the standard 8 badges the Elite Four and then the Battle Fronter. And multiple regions as well like the Hoen and the Kento reagons.

But, one thing, I just wouldn't want to be in one of those futuristic settings that games like Pokemon XD had.. so...
and also, it would be awesome if we could fly around when we actually use the move fly.

haha, thread is very nostalgic, great childhood memories from the Pokemon series, would love to see it revived for the Wii U

Nintendo doesn't feel that the core RPG Pokemon gameplay is well suited for the living room. They felt that way ever since N64, and I doubt it will change any time soon. They might feel different if they were a US company, but in Japan, it's easy to see why they feel it makes more sense.

A home version would also require far greater development time and resources. Maybe with the Wii U being their first online console (Wii doesn't count) they will reconsider making it work.

I really don't see what people don't like with colosseum OK, it was a bit too goofy for me, but it DID have a story and maybe even a darker one than at least R/S/E and D/P/P.
I would love a third game in the Orre-saga with maybe a few new pokemons for the region, wild pokemon-battles (for real this time) and maybe go for the darkest story yet in the pokemon franchise
and I really hope they can make new models and animations this time... -.-'

Anyone think setting up their own Pokemon Gym would be an awesome idea?

Like if you weren't online but someone did want to battle you, you set up a Pokemon Gym of your design, and they have to rumble through to you, the Gym Leader (and if they win they get a crappily made badge that you can make on the Touchscreen.)

As for how to make a Gym not too beast, you'd have a meter for each Pokemon Trainer in your gym. Each time you adjust the Pokemon in a party, their skills, moves etc. The meter goes up and down. The idea is to find an the best possible combination without busting that meter. And as you successfully fend off trainers, or beat other gyms from other people, you can expand on how powerful your gym gets. (So you basically only have the ability to make the equivalent of the first gym in each region, but can eventually make a gym as strong as an 8th gym).

As for floor design and navigating for the gym, there could be a gym editor, and you can either win or DLC (hopefully free) new gym parts.

That, to me, sounds like fun.

I think they should do something other than the tired old 8 badges.
It should be darker (I'd like to see a T-rated Pokemon game), and should be entirely about stopping the evil team. Instead of having the Pokemon fight for you, you would fight Team-Death along with your Pokemon.

It could also be a Pokemon Action-RPG. Same 8 badges, but real time battles.

Alternatively, the Pokemon battles carry out like Street Fighter matches.

I've only played Colosseum once, but I don't remember it being dark at all.
