I have a 3ds & have money on it in the eshop but i have connected my wii u to the same account but the current balance shows as £0.00 anyone know if it should carry the current balance across ?

They're not the same accounts.
3DS doesn't use Nintendo Network ID's, it uses simple eShop accounts.

just phoned nintendo, both accounts are different so you cannot transfer any balance :@
