OK so i got my Wii U on Release day, absolutely love it.
I got Nintendoland, Mario and Zombieu, all great game.

But my question is... Is there any real online functionality in any of these? I can see Nintendoland being ace if you could compare scores to your friends and/or others, or even do multiplayer together, the same sort of applies to Mario. I don't know anybody else who's got the console so can hardly test it out.

So if there is any decent online features, who wants to be my friend? :)

Nintendo Land is about the closest you get to online scores. If you connect online from in the game you can see trophies or whatever if you click on the Mii's. Yet that is very random as all the Mii's that visit the game are pulled off Miiverse based off time of posts I believe. (As in X date to X date for however many players the game pulls at a time. At least from what I have seen it looks to be this way. Someone correct me if I am wrong). Now friends I am not one-hundred percent sure how they pull it, but if they do your going to have to go into the Plaza area and hunt their Mii's down to even compare for say some kind of leaderboard. (shrugs) There are multi-player based games out, but the ones you listed really have nothing major in them.

Thanks for the reply, that's a real shame because it seems that they could so easily be so much better!
Do you have any reccommendations? I have my ps3 and xbox for proper stuff like COD, Fifa, Assassins creed etc.

I currently do not own any games with online multi-player on the Wii U, so I can not give you a run down of each game. However, from my understanding CoD Black Ops 2, Assassins Creed III, Mass Effect 3, Trine 2, & Sonic All-Star Racing Transformed(I am not 100% sure on this one. Yet, no one has ever corrected me to this date when I posted *shrugs*) are the only games with online multi-player functionality. All of these games are multi-platform games and probably could be played with friends easier on another platform. (Again I can not say one-hundred percent how well the online works in terms of joining friends. Yet being Nintendo, it could be a little troublesome compared to other platforms).

There's also Tekken Tag Tournament 2, FIFA, Madden, and 007 Legends, but those are all available for your other systems. There might be some others too that I don't know about.

Only thing on your list I would say is a no go is 007. Figured we were talking of games currently out due to him asking of recommendations. (Sort of counts though, so close, but so far ;P)
http://www.target.com/p/bond-007-legends-nintendo-wii-u/-/A-14331462#prodSlot=medium_1_3&term=007%20Legends 007 is out the 11th of this month.

As far as pricing goes, it is kind of hard to justify purchasing on the Wii U for a higher price on that note. Being as you can get it for like 42.50 plus 3.99 shipping on Amazon for the PS3. That or get it on sell via Steam sometime on a PC. (46.49 is a grand price verse say the Wii U price 59.99). Kind of sad when older games are released onto another platform to get a higher price tag. Specially with all these horrible ports being released these days (On any platform).

For some reason 007 Legends is showing as available and in stock for multiple stores in Canada. Perhaps not elsewhere?

Recommendation-wise, I haven't played any of them personally on the Wii U with the exception of Trine 2 (which is fantastic).

I would agree that the pricing on ports is unfortunate, not to mention size of community (and thus matchmaking). However, a smaller community can result in more notoriety!

@xile6: You can send invite messages to your friends on your friends list to have them accept it & join? Without booting into something like Miiverse to read it and later jump back into a game? Edit: I am assuming this is something like in game only based? As in they need to be in the game to see the invites and/or messages?
