Ok so I want to play multiplayer for the new super mario brothers u, and I only have the gamepad and the one wii controller but the gamepad only does the boost mode. is there anyway that the gamepad could control a character instead of being boost mode?

Nsmbu gamepad and wii controller help.

Nope. I dont know why they made it like that. Would of been cool and played like pikmin fron nintendo land.
But you can only use wiimotes in multiplayer.
Good news is the cheap wiimotes from ebay works. I brought 2 and they work great was $17 ship ea. Nunchuck and wiimote combo.

This is something that has been a major annoyance to me. I STRONGLY prefer gamepad play for this game, but it's not possible in Multiplayer, which is absolutely silly. :/

I had the same issue, brought home a wii remote to play multiplayer with the wife, just to realize I needed to go back and buy another one.

I think this was a stupid idea.

I like to play with the Wiimote better as the TV looks better than the gamepad.
