Right dude. Ign also really liked what they saw in Zombi U then trashed it in the review.
They didn't thrash anything. It was one persons opinion on the game. What makes you think everyone out there should have the same opinion and/or like every single game. Do you expect everyone to agree with you. also if i remember correctly the previews were done by a different editor. Not to mention that most if not all the other IGN editors liked the game. If you don't agree then fine but that doesn't mean you have to say they thrashed it in the review.

Oh no there were several things that stand out about that situation, and I could care less if IGN has the same opinion as me about that game. First, IGN does have a very bad habit of pumping games up and even going as far as to call them killer apps....then their review contradicts the excitement of their previews. I get that other IGN editors besides Greg enjoyed the game, but my response is then why give the game to Greg to review. I don't think that Greg can be taken seriously anymore as an unbiased reviewer, and that is exactly what a game like ZombiU deserved. Greg is the same guy that gave Uncharted 3 a straight up 10, and I think it was clear in his review that ZombiU is not his type of game. He wanted to be able to run and gun like Left for Dead and that is simply not how that game is played. I also got the distinct impression that Greg never finished the game from the wording of his review. Lastly, I also get that this is one man's review, but that one man is representing a game site that has a ton of pull in the industry. It is pretty bad when your reviewer gives a game a 6.3, and from that day forward your site is continuing to give a game that you define as "totally mediocre" a ton of coverage. Sorry but when you see the incredible amount of love that the Miiverse community gives this game sites like IGN, Gamespot, and EGM should be embarrassed. At the least I think the game deserves "second opinion" reviews from those sites.

I'm not even going to attempt to read that wall of text. If you had taken the time and made the effort to present your post so that it was actually readable I would have. Suffice to say I still stand by what I posted earlier. There are way to many people out their who don't realise that reviews are just personal opinions. You don't have to agree with them but that doesn't mean you make such ridiculous statements that lack any credibility.

The game was given a 6.3 which is defined as "mediocre." However, after building the game up in previews, and then giving it that score that is in fact a "trashing." I'm not really sure how that is a statement lacking credibility. It is one person's opinion, but that person represents a powerful video game review site. Btw man there is really no need to be so damned smug. I'm not sure how you would have had me write my post, and I wasn't aware that I was being graded on it. Next time I'll change the fonts to big block letters so that you are able to read it better

Instead of blaming the person that reviewed the game did you ever stop to think it deserved the score...first of all 6.3 in terms of the rating scale IGN uses is considered a decent game, which is exactly what zombi U is. The controls are kinda sluggish and not very responsive, combat is terrible, no variety in melee weapons (really in a zombie apocalypse???), story is bland and boring (if you even wanna call it a story) graphics are "meh", sound effects are horrible...the only thing zombi U managed to get right is creating a scary environment and the need to survive. If it didn't hit those 2 things it would have been an absolute failure..but I see zombi u as a work in progress and I see potential for a sequel, but as of now zombi u is a (at best) decent game to have fun with. I think it deserves at best a 6.5-7.0...

IGN can say that a 6.3 is "mediocre" all that it wants, but when games like Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse get the same score as ZombiU something is horribly wrong. IGN inflates most of the scores on hyped games, and then inexplicably drops the bottom out of others like ZombiU. Luckily for ZombiU the game managed to shrug off the 4-5 reviews that were not consistent with all the others and sits at a very respectable 7.6 on Metacritic. Btw I like the combat and controls because I feel they work perfectly with the scary environment and need to survive. I'll give you the graphics, but fortunately for me I could care less because I'm all about gameplay. 8.5 for me.

Get off this forum is you don't want to read a direct reply to you when you started a debate.
Greg is the worst reviewer they could have put on zombiu, and his review was biased.
The developers even went so far as to put a spraypainted message inside the game about an hour in to let people know it's not a run-and-gun game, it is zombie survival.
If he reviewed cod coming in assuming it's a platformer, he'd have scored it low too.
I can't wait for the review of the last of us. It's going to be 10/10 for being a run of the mill shooter with zombies in it.
Regardless, it discredits IGN even more than they already have been the past few years, and taking any previews seriously from them is probably going to net you nout.

Ha ha you are so right. I have no doubt that Greg will be the reviewer for Last of Us, and I have no doubt that it will get a 10/10 since it is Naughty Dog. That said I'm sure I will love the game, but that is because I will go into it expecting the 8-8.5/10 that it will probably deserve.
