We purchased the Wii U and Super Marios game. The Wii U came with a gamepad and we also bought a remote. We can't figure out a way for two people to play at the same time, with one person using the gamepad and another using the remote. Does anyone know if this is possible? Thanks!

I get the frustration.

You need two wiimotes.

Wow really? That sucks. I thought you could have one player using the gamepad and the other with a wiimote ... or is it just for NSMB?

Well nintendoland needs wiimotes and gamepad, so probably just nsmbu?
Dunno what question means.

Sorry I shall clarify! : 3
I was asking if you can use the gamepad and second player with the normal wiimote? Or just two normal wiimotes? I hope that makes sense lol

in nsmbu, you can play with either 1 upad, 1,2,3 4 wiimotes, or 4 wiimotes and 1 upad at the same time.
In 4+1 the upad just adds blocks for the other players to jump on.

You can use a gamepad and wii remotes it does work here is what you do

press connect on the front of the wii u console it is the red button that syncs the gamepad and the wii remotes to the console also you need a wii remote with wii motion plus regular wii remotes wont work

thats it you need to make sure both wii remotes can operate in wii mode if they cannot then you didn't sync the remotes right
