Hi all....

It is impossible to start my old games.
I go to the Wii menu and synchronize my Wii remote
The Wii u then asks to use the Wii remote to select Wii menu on the screen but I'm unable to select it...
The only button that works is the B to cancel.

Can anyone help me out?

A big thank you in advance...

Have you done the Wii U firmware update by connecting it to the Internet? This is required for Wii mode to work.

Here's some tips to help you out

1. Make sure the Wii U has the latest firmware update ( to find out, choose system update in settings)

2. Make sure the Wii Remotes motion can work ( try testing it on a regular Wii if you own one)

3. Make sure the sensor bar is plugged into the back of the console ( try putting it in very firmly, some people think they have it in, only to find out it wasn't inserted all the way in) and is in an area where the Wii Remote can connect to it ( nothing blocking the sensor).

4. If all else fails, try unplugging the sensor bar and plug it back in, change the batteries in the remote, or unplug the console for a few minutes ( make sure to unplug when the console is off, unplugging it while turned on could damage the system).

Hi guys... thanks for the replies.
I updated my Wii Unwith the latest firmware.
Wii U games are working... The remotes too since I'm able to play the Wii U games.... Very strange.
The remote excepts all actions except when I need to select the Wii Menu....

I'm a little confused, when you say the remotes work "in games" do you mean including the pointer on the screen or JUST the d-pad, buttons, etc.

Like others have said, of the pointer isn't working on the screen even in Wii U mode, check the sensor bar is plugged in correctly and in a good line of sight on top/bottom of the TV.

Hi all,

It works fine now...
The sensor bar wasn't plugged in completely...
The remotes were working, only the pointer didn't work....

Thanks for all the help !
